We know how difficult it is to bring serenity to a hectic lifestyle. Meetings, busy schedules and endless responsibilities can really bring you down. Well, not this spring, as we will bring you to our second Portuguese retreat with Kremena & Márcia. A well-balanced combination of yoga practice, good food and great wine (or grape juice) will be at the heart of the retreat. And the location we selected this time around is beyond amazing!
The purpose of the retreat is to help you think calmly about what’s truly important, far from the daily routines and never-ending to-do lists. Relax in the exquisite nature surroundings, learn new techniques of yoga and meditation, get inspired by a new cuisine, tend to your body with herbs macerated in olive oil, share your knowledge and ideas with like-minded people.
Companhia das Culturas is a refurbished guesthouse that has a lush garden, an outdoor saltwater swimming pool, hammam and corkbox for yoga practices. It is situated in the southeastern corner of the Algarve: 1,5km away from Praia Verde beach, 4km from the Historical village of Castro Marim and 6 km from the Nature Reserve of Ria Formosa.
Rooms at Companhia das Culturas are decorated with a mix of natural and modern elements. The private bathroom has natural stone walls and comes with a shower and a tub. With neither television, nor background music (but equipped with Wi-Fi), Companhia das Culturas is ideal for relaxation and enjoying nature walks.
Fully lined with cork, the lounge was designed specifically for practicing yoga. But here you can also surrender to the silence, listen to music or watch a movie.
Hammam or turkish bath is a deep cleansing and relaxation method. Its use contributes to the reduction of salts, fat and body toxins. Without any physical effort, it promotes muscular relief by reducing stress and accumulated pain.
The morning begins with an energising Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga class for a fresh start of the day followed by a nutritious breakfast. Afterwards, take some time for yourself and relax – go for a walk, a swim in the pool or unwind in the hammam. We’ll get together for a delicious warm lunch, after which you will again have some free time until the afternoon yoga / mindfulness workshop or planned group activity. We will end the day with a delightful dinner and glass (or two) of wine, and a guided meditation session for a good night sleep.
You will have a well-balanced choice of Ashtanga and Strala inspired classes during the retreat.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is an intense practice that gives you the chance to challenge your body in a conscious way. Connecting breath with movement, this practice is ideal for the mornings as it is a sequence of postures linked by breath, which activates all systems in a very natural way.
Strala is suitable for all experience levels and aims at relieving the stress of everyday life through fun, uplifting, yet easygoing natural movements.
